Residential Design Services Specialized in Tropical Architecture
A. DESIGN SERVICES
We create cutting-edge designs that are functional, practical, and sustainable. We incorporate principles of tropical architecture that minimize adverse environmental impacts while providing healthy living and working conditions to occupants. We utilize passive design strategies and local materials that are specifically designed to make buildings thermally comfortable in tropical environments while abiding by local building codes and laws. We provide a variety of architectural design styles from which to choose based on your needs.
B. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
We combine traditional knowledge with modern technology to create inexpensive, environmentally friendly residential structures. We create innovative designs that are intended to maximize enjoyment of the outdoor weather and nearby nature. We achieve appropriate design solutions through a range of building schemes and materials that are either derived from or inspired by the local vernacular architecture and the climate.
Our Experience
Architect Eric Samovar P. Baño is committed to excellence by balancing the art and science of architecture with the context of each particular site. All of his residential projects adhere to the principles of tropical architecture, such as stack effect ventilation, limiting the use of materials with a high thermal mass, sun louvers, light-colored external walls, natural ventilation, and so on. He designed the B.A.L.E. Housing complex in Capas, Tarlac, the Manjares Residence in Lipa City, Batangas, and the Gomez Residence in Antipolo City, Rizal, all in 2015. His designs on these structures typically feature airy, open floor plans with large windows to let in a lot of daylight and take advantage of the views of the neighborhood. In 2017, he designed the Barinaga residence in Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Philippines, and the Acosta residence in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The external facades of these structures have a light color palette, which helps to preserve the authentic look of a tropical home while also keeping it bright and airy. Two years later, he designed the Model House Residence in Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Philippines, the Matos Residence in Antipolo City, Rizal, the Pandacan Student Block in Pandacan, Manila, and the Diaz Villa in Alfonso, Cavite.
