We’ve spent a great deal of time working on architectural internships. Our experiences in Concipio Tektura were memorable, productive, and full of invaluable lessons. I’ve learned through experience how to interact and communicate with other people. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that talent alone is not enough. It is essential, but it is no guarantee of success. Everyone must also be hard working and should practice self-discipline. Sacrifice is important too. I’ve learned to sacrifice things like time, effort, hobbies, etc. And sometimes even on weekends; I still have workloads to do. I’ve learned to put extra effort on every task given to me so that I can produce a best result on my work. It’s also very important to have a good communication with your mentor, don’t hesitate to seek for their advice and suggestions. And if by any chance, you’re being corrected, don’t take it negatively instead take that as an opportunity to bring the best in you. © Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio Realizing the value of being surrounded by the culture of an architectural office, I’ve learned how they really function, learned their way of communication, styles, focuses and other creative way to promote their business. I had observed and absorb a lot of things from them. For me it’s not about the technicality but it is all about the value of things that matters in architecture, and CT introduce me to a more detailed aspects of architecture, steps in production of a project, law, client approach, promotional services and many more. Attitude plays a big role. One thing that I learned about attitude is that when you are in a company you have to manage and adjust your timings, limits, your styles in designing and etc. because the point of all of this is to leave a mark – a positive impression about who you are as a person, that you are willing to take part of the company’s production, to be part of the team as an apprentice. If you can find a way to convey these qualities, then you will find your success rate going way up in the future. © Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio This internship thought me a lot. I experienced good things; gain lessons in CT and is able to work with great team. My internship experience teaches me to better prepare myself in the future because the real world is much broader than I think I know in school. It’s all about, start with what you know, and remove the unknown. Begin at the beginning and then work on how to solve the problems one at a time.

Yesterday, I was able to join Ar. Eric Baño, the principal architect of Concipio Tektura, in one of the design studio’s meeting and company presentation to a potential client. This would be a memorable learning experience for me, since it was my first time to spectate an actual corporate presentation. Winding back the clock to what happened yesterday, I gathered some pointers to effectively sell yourself to the clients in a minimalist Concipio Tektura manner: A. Be prepared. Being prepared is all about the considerations of time, assume everything that may happen before, during and after the presentation.

© Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio © Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio As a young aspirant, at first, I thought it would be very intimidating to participate to such formal meetings, well actually, it really felt like that, especially as I walked through the lobby and corridors of the client’s spacious office, sat on one of the chairs of their conference room, and witnessed the fluent exchange of information between professionals. Nevertheless, as someone or as a company selling yourself and your services, I guess the state of being intimidated happens to be a usual yet powerful part of the learning process, as it gives you an insight of how prepared you should be for the next level of your career. © Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio © Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio And so, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Concipio Tektura Architectural Design Studio and Ar. Eric Baño, for giving me the opportunity to understand the essentials of corporate presentations through actual experience. I hope the studio may help more and more Architecture students and apprentices to develop their skills and confidence, as well as ignite their eagerness and passion to learn. Godspeed.
